Did you know? If you’re 70 ½ years of age or older, you can give to Napa Valley Genealogical Society directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and receive tax benefits in return. It’s called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) or charitable rollover – this easy, popular donation option can benefit both you and NVGS.
When a charitable gift is transferred directly from your Traditional or Roth IRA to NVGS, you reduce your taxable income (with some exceptions) while satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). You benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions.

| Your QCD DonationFor fifty years, NVGS has helped our members and the community gain a deeper understanding of who they are through the study of genealogy. Your gift will help further NVGS's mission by directly supporting our library, education programs, outreach efforts, and operations. |
For questions about making a qualified charitable distribution gift to NVGS, email Treasurer@NapaGenSoc.org.
For questions about transferring funds, whether QCDs are right for you, or other aspects of your personal financial situation, it's best to discuss these with your IRA administrator, attorney, or tax advisor. You can also visit the IRS website for more information.
