Below are some of our favorite tools — ones we use when researching our own ancestors! Use the resources below to enhance your research:

Getting Started

Napa Research

The Napa County Library has made local newspapers available online, including ones from American Canyon, Calistoga, Napa, and St. Helena. Dates begin as early as the mid-1860s but vary with each paper.

Click the link above. On the left side, scroll down and choose "Newspapers & Magazines". Then scroll down to Napa County Newspaper Archive.

Our Library has indexes to the birth, marriage, and death records held at the County Recorder's Office. Click the link above to order actual copies of these vital records directly from the Napa County Clerk-Recorder’s office.
