Volunteers are the heart of NVGS! As an all-volunteer organization, every member's contribution makes a big difference.

To ensure a successful future, we need members to serve in key volunteer positions. Many tasks are intermittent or involve just a couple hours per month, and can be performed from home or at our library.

Tech Support

Do your friends refer to you as their Help Desk? Are you good with Windows technology? We're looking for someone to swing by the Library regularly to perform routine updates, as well as troubleshoot computers, printers, and scanners as needed. Join our Tech Team!

Graphic Design

If you have a professional graphic design background, we could use your help: we need to revise a few of our core pieces and want to create a couple new ones! It's low stress: we'll tackle one project at a time with soft deadlines.

Saturday Library Support

Many working members, as well as weekend visitors to our area, would love to be able to access our library on Saturdays. We've got 1st Saturdays covered. If you can offer a couple of hours one Saturday per month, let us know. Training provided.

Tackle a Special Library Project

Our library always has interesting projects in progress! Do you enjoy indexing, cataloging, digitizing, or other archiving tasks? We've got several projects that need work:

• Pioneer files: Complete files by comparing contents to original application
• Family files: Organize, evaluate, possibly digitize
• Photos: Identify, digitize to cloud storage
• Maps: Finish cataloging, labeling, inventorying contents
• Archives: Digitize photos, inventory contents
• Park Victory Hospital ledger: Index

These projects, once completed, will be valuable tools for researchers, so others will enjoy the fruits of your labor for years to come. Most projects will require a longer-term commitment, but schedules are also flexible.

Event Support

We're also compiling lists of members willing to help with various events:

• Event planning: If your special skill is planning enjoyable events such as our annual holiday celebration, we'd love your help. 
• Refreshment providers: Snacks are a welcome addition to our monthly programs and other events. This opportunity might occur intermittently, but always has a positive impact.
