JW Linn, 1975.

What Is It? This interesting diary provides a first-hand account of family life during the decades leading up to the Civil War. The author resided in Guilford County, North Carolina and her diary entries were created between February 1, 1837 and May 3, 1861. The written pages are reproduced and many are transcribed for easier reading; includes an introduction to the author's family history and genealogy. This diary was recently discovered in our collection and has been re-shelved with our family histories.

How Can It Support My Research? If your ancestors lived in North Carolina and surrounding areas during this time period, this diary could help you gain insight into their everyday lives.
