Roll of Honor: Names of soldiers who died in defence of the American Union

28 Aug 2024 11:00 AM | Librarian (Administrator)

U.S. Quartermaster's Department, 1865-71, Rolls 1-25 + Index

What Is It? These volumes list members of the Civil War Rolls of Honor, according to where those soldiers are interred. Grouped by cemetery at the national and state levels. Includes an alphabetical index.

How Can It Support My Research? The index (compiled by Reamy in 1996) may help you locate where your ancestor was buried. From there, you can check the roll and determine the soldier's rank, regiment and company, date of death, and possibly the exact grave location.
